We often ask just who Christ is and there are many answers that can be given. The most obvious is when asked by Christ, peter answered the question in Matthew 16:13–17

Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ

[13] Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” [14] And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” [15] He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” [16] Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” [17] And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. (ESV)

But what does Jesus say about himself? Christ talked about himself frequently in the Gospels. Not in a self serving or grandiosity way, but rather to help us understand who he is and why he came.

This week we will be starting a new podcast series where we will be looking at what Christ has to say about himself as expressed by him in the 7 “I Am” statements that are in the gospel accounts. Is he bread or light or a door or a shepherd or the resurrection and the life or the way or a vine or is he more than this?
